SUZANNE HASLETT: CO-FOUNDER & COACH

Suzanne built a successful and demanding career in HR within the airline industry, earning her company’s top leadership award—an honour that even saw her name emblazoned on a Boeing 767 (something she’s still not entirely sure how to casually mention).

Her path shifted with the birth of her daughters, which both fascinated and challenged her in equal measure. Curious to better understand this new role, she began studying human development and psychology. What started as a personal interest soon grew into a Master’s degree, with her research focused on parenting and children’s emotional development.

Her biggest insight: parenting doesn’t just shape children—it shapes us. As she explains, “While we influence our children’s development, they also profoundly influence ours. Parenting offers a second opportunity to experience the parent–child relationship—but this time, we’re the parent. It can be triggering, but it’s also an extraordinary opportunity for growth.”

Suzanne is a strong advocate for letting go of the idea of the “perfect parent.” She believes that striving for perfection places unnecessary pressure on both parents and children. “If we feel we have to be perfect, our kids will feel that too—and no one needs that,” she says. “We all make mistakes. What matters most is what we do afterward.”

Susie is passionate about family life, but also about putting ourselves first to give our best to others. Still in the trenches with her own family, she is a psychologist with counselling and systemic family therapy expertise.

Bereaved as a child, divorced, remarried, stepmother and mother to her own ebullient children, she knows about family struggles. She specialises in stepfamily wellbeing and is a great advocate of differently wired children, understanding the increased challenges faced by parents trying to nurture and raise these wonderful children.

Driven to support families around the globe, Susie wants to make the job of being a parent as easy and enjoyable as possible through the Family Space app.
